Build Water Wells

What is the Water Wells Program?
At the ILM Foundation, your contributions are crucial for providing communities with access to boreholes—an essential water source for homes and businesses. We drill deep into the earth to tap into vital water supplies, ensuring families have the resources to thrive. Our sustainable systems, powered by gas, electricity, or solar energy, help combat water scarcity and foster a brighter future. Together, we can build a more resilient community!
In Ghana, the need for access to natural water sources is urgent, with deep mechanized boreholes developed to address diminishing land and water resources. As the landscape dries, reliance on unsafe water grows, posing health risks. Climate change exacerbates these challenges, leading to environmental and societal issues, including rising temperatures, escalating food insecurity, and prolonged droughts, threatening both ecosystems and local livelihoods.
Why It Matters
To establish a sustainable solution, it is important to understand the financial aspects involved in the development of quality deep bore drilling. The average cost for this important service is approximately $2,500. This investment covers a range of critical components, including the drilling process itself, borehole construction, the installation of quality pumps, and the necessary pipes. Additionally, skilled technicians are employed to ensure proper device installation, while plumbing services are provided for optimal functionality. Quality analysis, transportation, and testing are also integral parts of the process, along with treatment services if they are deemed necessary. All these factors contribute to creating a reliable source of safe drinking water for communities affected by the ongoing water crisis.
